Founded in 1991, the Portland Brass Quintet is one of Oregon's finest and most requested brass groups. Musicians of the PBQ are currently members of, and regularly perform with the Oregon and Seattle Symphonies, as well the Eugene Symphony, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Tacoma Symphony and Newport Symphony. Members of the group also play a variety of musical styles with different groups that include, Ensemble of Strategic Intelligence in Portland, The Swingtime Jazz Band, Patrick Lamb Band and the Rhythm Dogs.

The Portland Brass Quintet provides music for dozens of weddings and celebrations each year and has performed at Portland Trail Blazers games, grand opening ceremonies of PGE Park and the dedication of the Multnomah County Main Library. Several times a year the group provides music for local churches including Easter services at St Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. In addition, the group performs an annual run of shows with the magnificent Christmas Revels.
